Senior Homecare and Aging Services
Mar. 19, 2024
My name is Angie Warren and I am the Sr. Director of Homecare and Aging services for Jewish Family Services Silicon Valley. I have been privileged to have spent the last three decades of my career in the service of others. In my current role, we are supporting an underserved population, our senior community. With changes in mobility, increased dependence on others, our seniors are often struggling to maintain the quality of life to which they've been accustomed. JFS SV also supports the caregivers providing hands on care to their loved ones. We are directly reaching out to our Holocaust Survivors, aging persons with limited or fixed incomes, and seniors who do not have local support. This is a huge need in our greater community. JFS SV, while a Jewish faith based organization, does not discriminate. We serve people in need and will continue to work towards making a positive impact in our community. |

California Water, Weather Whiplash, Climate Resilience and the wisdom of Mark Twain
Apr. 09, 2024
Since 1993, Sustainable Conservation has been advancing the collaborative stewardship of California’s land, air, and water for the benefit of nature and people. Jan Merryweather is a Director at Sustainable Conservation, where she has worked for over 10 years -- first leading the PlantRight program, then moving to the Water program, before arriving in her current role on the Development Team. She's here to share some interesting facts on building a more sustainable water future and climate resilient California. After graduating from Stanford, the first half of Jan's career was in the private sector, working for toy companies. What she loves most about working for Sustainable Conservation is working with, not against, businesses to adopt more environmentally friendly practices that make economic sense. In her free time, Jan serves on the Board of Directors at Environmental Volunteers and can frequently be found hiking in the Santa Cruz Mountains. |
