After spending much of his childhood as an Army brat, Pete has lived in the Bay Area since the late 60’s. He attended San Jose State University where he graduated with a Masters in Art in 1980. Shortly thereafter, Pete began his law enforcement career at San Jose State University Police Department. In 1982, he was hired by the San Jose Police Department and spent 28 years in a variety of assignments until retiring as a Police Captain. In 2010, Pete returned to SJSU as the Chief of Police of the University Police Department. During the last eight years he has overseen a department of 35 sworn officers and 50 civilian staff, providing public safety services to a community of approximately 36,000 students, faculty and staff. He is thrilled to join the men and women of the Los Gatos-Monte Sereno Police Department to provide the professional policing and high degree of customer service the communities have come to expect and deserve.

Pete currently lives in San Jose with his wife, Connie and their two children, Nathan and Natalie.
