President Andrew called the meeting to order. In this photo we have guests from Milpitas & cupertino district 5170.  Rotary Club of Silicon Andhra will be chartered in August 2019 so these guests were seeing how a club meeting is held and enjoying hearing how our club supports a private school in a remote Villiage of India.

Michelle called for the introduction of visitors and guests.  There were 5 district members attending and 12 other visitors and guests

May is a popular month for club member birthdays.  A total of 12 members were acknowledged

Member Harvey’s Alzheimer’s disease has progressed to the point that he has now been relocated to a special care facility.  Visitors are welcome although he no longer recognizes most people.

The club thanked Mike and Jen for hosting last week’s First Thursday event at their home

The theme for today’s inspiration was Mother’s Day and was presented by Henry

Eric announced that the club got a $6k reduction in fees from the traffic management company handling the Great Race giving the club more money to fund projects

A commendation plaque given by Supervisor Dave Cortese at the Great Race was announced by President Andrew

Patti introduced the guest speakers Kate and Venyei who built a small school in a remote village in India with funding help from our club.  The village residents are very poor and families only pay $5 for their children to attend the school.  The Lamling Vista Elementary School has just celebrated its 10th anniversary.
