INSPIRATION
Doug Brent shared inspiration - a story about Genie Chance's coverage of the 1964 Alaska earthquake. Genie was a radio broadcaster, journalist, and congressperson.

Barry Cheskin virtually received his blue badge today. Congratulations, Barry!
 
COVID-19 UPDATE
A Covid-19 update for Santa Clara County was given. We were also reminded that Verily is doing Covid-19 testing. Contact Greg Gomon for details.
 
We were reminded to sign up for the virtual Great Race. Michelle Myers Nelson created a new video for the revised virtual race method which was shared with the club.
 
CLUB BUDDIES

AVENUES OF SERVICE
Various service projects remain ongoing in the community. See slide 17 of the meeting presentation sent out by President Marty Fishman for details if you would like to volunteer.

WORLD SERVICE COMMITTEE MEETING

POLIO PLUS
Avis La Grone and Dan Snyder will soon be requesting your annual donation for Polio Plus which has shifted it's focus to Covid-19 efforts.
 
SPEAKER
Today's speaker was Judith Miner, Chancellor of the Foothill-De Anza Community College System. She described what the community college system offers, how it is funded, and how it is managing virtual coursework and its associated challenges. She also described how some of the college's Krause Center for Innovation 3D printers have been loaned to a local manufacturer for making face shields for hospital staff during the current hospital supplies shortage.
